The course aims to familiarize seed growers and greenhouse vegetable growers with the latest state of knowledge and experience of the industry, including: (a) theoretical and practical knowledge in greenhouse vegetable production technology; and (b) practical knowledge in greenhouse management.

Main topics and practical sessions include:

• Introduction to vegetables for greenhouse production

• Principles and procedures of greenhouse vegetable production

• Modern technology on propagation of vegetable crops seedling for greenhouse

• Integrated nutrition management- new trends in substrate preparation, irrigation (water), fertilization (fertigation)

• Integrated pest management - biological features of the most common diseases and pests of vegetable crops and modern methods of treatment

• Greenhouse design and management - introduction to technical specification (structure, function)

• Automation and mechanization for cultivation of vegetable crops in greenhouses

• Practical field visits to greenhouse vegetable production
